This is the sunrise over Haleakala. Haleakala is the tallest volcano on Maui and the second tallest in Hawaii. We woke up at 2:00 am and took a shuttle bus to the top of the volcano. We were up there at 5:30 before the sun had started to rise. We could see so many stars, because there is no light pollution this high up. It was cold and windy and the kids did not like it very much. Kiran kept saying that she wanted to go back to the hotel. But when the sun rose and we were above the clouds looking down into the crater of the volcano, it was quite a sight!
